Figuring Out Where to Go from Here

There has been so much going on both in my writing life and outside of it, so many influences that have batted my time to write and thrown up obstacles over the past five months. Now, picking up the pieces, I am trying to figure out what to work on or where to turn my attention to the most. To my short stories, to my novels, to the articles I am working on…?

It is a constant juggling act, trying to keep everything going. I have written about this before, but now I feel like I am so far behind on where I needed to be at this point. There is no point in whining about it. I just have to gather my pieces and aim my energy into getting out what I can get out by the end of the year and ride the tides that are moving about in my life.

Thank you for reading and please visit www.davidalanlucas.com to read the latest on my blogs, short stories, poems, article and novels.

OMG I am so the same way! I have at least five projects swirling around in my head (not to mention the two billion other things I have to remember on any given day). I always feel bad because I see all these calls for submission of short stories but I feel guilty if I let go of my novel ideas to work on short story skills when I could be spending more time on the novels. So frustrating! But you're right, you just have to get as much as you can out there and go with it. Good luck, can't wait to hear more stories next week!
